Chelsea officially release new 2020/21 Nike kit

Chelsea have officially released their new kit for the 2020/21 season.

Despite the current 2019/20 campaign not yet being finished due to the delay caused by the coronavirus pandemic, the Blues are already planning for next season, whatever that may be.

The new shirt carries new sponsors, with mobile network company 3 succeeding Yokohama Tyres on the shirt.

The kit is made up of a blue shirt, blue shorts, and white socks, with the shirt having a darker blue trim around the sleeves and the neck. It also has dark blue running down the side of the shirt, with “pride of London” embossed on.

Chelsea have also confirmed that the kit worn by the players and the replica versions for fans are made from recycled polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles.

The Blues have also confirmed that the new kit will be worn for the first time in the Premier League game against West Ham United tonight (Wednesday) as the team look to pull away from Manchester United and Wolves in the race for the top four.

Speaking to the club website, striker Tammy Abraham has also given his thoughts on the new kit.

“The kit is really, really smart – very Chelsea,” he said.

“You can see the story behind the kit with how it looks and all the little touches that remind you of a good suit. I think we will certainly be the best-dressed team next season.”

Chelsea will be hoping that the new kit will see them achieve much success over the coming season.
