Chelsea news: Todd Boehly 'very close' to completing £34m transfer as Raphinha makes decision

Terry approves Sterling transfer

football.london understand that Chelsea will pay Manchester City an initial fee worth around £45million for Raheem Sterling. A further £10million will be due to the Premier League champions if a number of performance-related add-ons are met throughout the 27-year-old's time at Stamford Bridge.

And, it's fair to say that club legend John Terry is behind a potential deal. With the deal all but official, the former Blues captain and defender took to Instagram to express his delight at the signing.

As seen on Reddit, when asked what his views on Sterling are, Terry said: "Love him. Would be a great signing."

Koulibaly 'very close'

Chelsea are said to be 'very close' to signing Kalidou Koulibaly this summer, with Thomas Tuchel soon set to welcome the first signing of a new era at Stamford Bridge. According to widespread reports, Koulibaly will pen a three-year deal with the Blues in a deal which will cost Todd Boehly €40million (around £34m).

Chelsea are believed to be in direct contact with the Senegal international's agent Fali Ramadani following a meeting between the two parties which took place on Monday. The defender, who sees his deal with the Italian giants expire in 12 months, is seen as an alternative to Matthijs de Ligt, who is edging ever close to penning a deal at Bayern Munich.

Raphinha blow

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have finally tabled an official bid for Raphinha worth an initial €58million (£49m), with add-ons seeing the fee rise to €68million (£58.2m). It's said that negotiations are in the final stages and all parties are now waiting for the Spanish giants to open space for the winger so that he can be registered.

Chelsea were once favourites to sign the Leeds United talisman. Tuchel has quickly regathered his thoughts and is now said to have set his sights on an alternative...
