Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has spent more than £160million in the transfer market this summer and might not be finished just yet
Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella and Kalidou Koulibaly are among those to join the Blues and fans are wondering if more players will follow before the deadline on September 1. Many believe Chelsea may need reinforcements to challenge for silverware this term.
Yet Tuchel's side made a good start to their Premier League campaign last Saturday by beating Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park. That wasn't a dramatic game, but the same can't be said about Chelsea's window. Here are the latest headlines from Stamford Bridge.
De Jong progress but Aubameyang frustration
Barcelona coach Xavi is blocking the sale of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Chelsea.
The Blues are still hoping to finalise an agreement for midfielder Frenkie de Jong amid the financial chaos at the Catalan club. Barcelona have spent £126million on five new players this summer, including big-money moves to bring in Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha from Bayern Munich and Leeds respectively.

Those funds have been raised in a series of complex financial moves for a club which admitted staggering debts of €1.35billlion (£1.14bn) last year. That burden forced them to release talisman Lionel Messi for free, allowing him to join Paris Saint-Germain.
Barcelona have already sold two tranches of future television rights and yesterday offloaded 24.5 per cent of Barca Studios to raise a further €100m in a bid to convince La Liga they are complying with Spanish FFP rules. Despite this, Aubameyang is set to stay.

Rodgers gives Fofana update
Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers says there have been no new fresh bids for Wesley Fofana amid interest from Chelsea.
The 21-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Blues in the transfer window after impressing for the Foxes folllowing his move from Saint-Etienne in 2020. It has been reported that Chelsea are preparing a third bid for Fofana, although they are considering other defensive targets should that approach fail.
Leicester have already turned down two offers from the Blues for the defender, with neither close to the Foxes' valuation. The East Midlands club do not want to sell Fofana and are confident of keeping him after he signed a new five-year contract in March.

Sterling explains Chelsea move
Sterling has revealed he had to leave Manchester City for Chelsea because he "couldn't afford to waste more time".
The England star won four Premier League titles after joining City from Liverpool in 2015 and has made more appearances for the club under Pep Guardiola than any other player. But Sterling, 27, lost his place in City’s first-choice under Pep Guardiola for the big matches in the Premier League and Champions League.
And he said he tried to change the view of the City before agreeing to the £47.5m transfer. "As a person, you always strive to achieve stuff," he said. "I felt my game time at City was getting limited for different reasons and I couldn't afford to waste more time.
"When I look back in the future, I never wanted to look back and see a rise then a decline. So my feeling was I needed to keep at the same level and a fresh challenge was needed."
