Preferred bidder outcome
Raine Bank is set to name their preferred bidder for the takeover of Chelsea Football Club as soon as this week, according to the New York Times. It would put an end to a saga that has lasted almost two months.
Three consortia are left in the running, led by Todd Boehly; Sir Martin Broughton; and Steve Pagliuca. Once a preferred bidder is chosen, they will have a period of exclusivity, where they can look to progress the takeover forward.
Wages an issue in Chelsea sale
Coventry City are interested to securing the services of Cobham graduate Jake Clarke-Salter on a permanent basis, according to out sister site CoventryLive. The report claims that the Championship outfit want to upgrade the centre-back’s loan deal into a permanent one in the summer.
