Chelsea news: Reece James suffers injury setback as Nick Candy outlines Roman Abramovich plan

Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Thursday, March 10.

Reece James blow

Thomas Tuchel has revealed that Reece James has suffered another injury setback, following his first start for the Blues in two months against Burnley last Saturday.

The England international was substituted against the Clarets with 20 minutes remaining and, according to the German coach, was unable to take part in Wednesday’s training session ahead of tonight's game against Norwich.

"Not his injured leg but the other leg. It needs examination. We thought maybe he could be on the pitch today but he couldn't," Tuchel said.

"He felt it during the match, that's why we took him out and it didn't get better so we are worried. Still we need more details and some more information so today will be further examinations. It was obvious what he gives to our team and what he can give to our team so not good news. A setback for sure, I hope not a big one."

Candy's takeover plan

Nick Candy, a British property developer, has confirmed his interest in buying Chelsea Football Club from Roman Abramovich.

The 49-year-old, who is known to be a Blues supporter, is the latest of a long list of people, or consortiums, to register their interest in the west London club following Roman Abramovich's statement last week, where he revealed his intention of selling.

A spokesman on behalf of Candy has stated that he 'is actively exploring a number of options for a potential bid for Chelsea'.

Tuchel speaks out on Christensen's future

Tuchel appeared resigned to Chelsea losing Andreas Christensen in his pre-match press conference ahead of today's Premier League encounter against Norwich City.

"He did not sign yet so you cannot communicate - this is a signal to us," he said. "Communication from his side is that he did not sign until now so we have to consider the possibility that he leaves us. Will we like it? No. Will we live with it? Yes."

Reports in Spain have suggested that the Denmark international has been undergoing the process of a medical with Barcelona, with his agents set to travel to finalise a deal with the Catalan giants in the latter half of the week.
