Chelsea urged to sign Robert Lewandowski
Former Chelsea and England defender Glen Johnson has urged the Blues to sign Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski this summer. It comes ahead of a huge few weeks for the club in the context of its future.
Speaking to Lord Ping, Johnson said: “For a club like Chelsea, I think they need to sign Robert Lewandowski. He is a more realistic signing, but these top, world-class strikers are hard to find. For his age and the possibility of the deal actually happening, I'd say Chelsea should sign Lewandowski."
Thomas Tuchel explains Loftus-Cheek substitution
There was plenty of surprise when Thomas Tuchel chose to take off Ruben Loftus-Cheek during extra time of Chelsea's FA Cup final clash with Liverpool. Loftus-Cheek himself was brought on in the additional period but withdrawn for Ross Barkley ahead of the kick-off with many speculating that he could have been injured.
But Tuchel explained this was not the case in his post-match press conference, saying: "No, that was purely for penalties. Ruben doesn't have a good history and Ross has. So it was down to the penalties."
