Chelsea news: Mauricio Pochettino gets £8m windfall boost amid Moises Caicedo transfer deadline

Your Chelsea morning headlines on Friday, June 7.

Ziyech transfer back on

Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech could still complete a move to Saudi Arabia despite his move to Al-Nassr collapsing due to issues raised in a medical.

According to Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law, there is a belief that he could still end up in the Middle East as the Blues seek for ways to sanction an exit and get him off the wage bill.

Problems in his hip and knees were widely reported as the reason for his failed medical with Ziyech himself responding to those claims. On Instagram, he posted a photo of both of his knees with the caption 'knee problems right??' *two laughing face emojis*.

Chelsea were set to gain £8million from his departure and with a possible exit back on, the Blues could use any funds they receive in the package submitted to Brighton for Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo deadline

Mauricio Pochettino has put a huge deadline in place for Chelsea to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.

After the focus was firmly placed on sanctioning exits, the new Chelsea manager is now hoping to seal some marquee arrivals ahead of the 2023/24 season with Caicedo as the priority.

Frequent talks have already been conducted with Chelsea hoping £80million will be enough, but no official proposal has been submitted from west London and when they do send an offer it may have to be significantly above their preferred asking price.

Mudryk audition passed

New Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino has a whole range of issues and responsibilities he must take on and tackle successfully if he is to have a long-term stay at Stamford Bridge.

Pre-season has already kicked off at Cobham, but a number of stars are yet to return after competing in international fixtures following the conclusion of the season. Those who played for their countries at the senior level are expected back in the coming days, although a Chelsea trio will have a little bit longer off.

Noni Madueke, Levi Colwill and Mykhailo Mudryk have all been representing their nations at the Under-21 European championships. All three have been impressive, but the performances of Mudryk have particularly stood out which is sure to see his confidence increase ahead of what could be a huge breakout season in west London.
