Rice setback
Arsenal have been handed a huge boost towards signing Declan Rice this summer, with Chelsea seemingly out of the race. The 24-year-old midfielder has been heavily linked with an exit from the London Stadium for a while now as he continues to impress for West Ham.
In an interview with BoyleSports, Florent Malouda said: "Declan knows Chelsea, but he will still be able to develop in terms of his performances because he wants to continue his performances with England and to win trophies, domestically and internationally.
"But what is the difference between Chelsea and West Ham right now? Apart from the wages and the transfer fee, there is not much Chelsea can offer him right now that West Ham can’t. Pochettino message
Florent Malouda has explained why Todd Boehly and give Mauricio Pochettino time to work his magic at Chelsea. Speaking to BoyleSports, the former Blues winger said: "I think Mauricio is a good option because he is a good manager who has been successful in the Premier League and done it with another Premier League club.
"But he will face the exact same challenge I have just talked about when it comes to dealing with the current squad. He will need to trim the current squad and also have the ability to build a squad of his own based on his beliefs and his philosophy.
"We know that at Chelsea you don’t get time to build. People expect results - especially with the quality of the squad. I think Mauricio Pochettino is a good manager, a young manager with modern ideas and now it is up to Chelsea to support him fully to build on his philosophy with the players that he wants."
