Mason Mount agrees personal terms with Manchester United

Manchester United have agreed personal terms with Mason Mount and are now expected to sign the Chelsea midfielder, according to The Telegraph. football.london understands Erik ten Hag's side are leading the race to sign the England international despite Liverpool putting in a lot of groundwork with Jurgen Klopp a huge admirer of Mount.

United manager Erik ten Hag has been confident he can secure Mount and talks have progressed positively in recent days since the two clubs played each other last Thursday. Mount has one year left on his contract at Chelsea and appears determined to leave, with the club wanting to exact as high a fee as possible rather than lose him on a free transfer.

£2.6m Ugarte issue

Manuel Ugarte joining Chelsea this summer looked set to become a foregone conclusion, however Mauricio Pochettino has been dealt a setback in the race to sign his priority target.

The 22-year-old has a release clause in his contract that stands at €60million (£51million) and both Chelsea and PSG made their intentions clear early on to meet that price with instalments.

Salary proposals were then revealed to be crucial in the transfer race from the perspective of Ugarte's camp and the Parisians currently hold a £2.6million advantage.

Pochettino has answer to goalkeeper issues

Signing a new goalkeeper is one of the main tasks facing Mauricio Pochettino in the summer with the uncertainty surrounding the futures of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy.

Inter's Andre Onana is the main name linked, with Chelsea even trying to offer a swap deal involving Kepa to bring the former Ajax man to Stamford Bridge.

That proposal was quickly rebuffed but the Blues' interest remains, however a £12million transfer already completed could give Pochettino the perfect answer to his shot stopper problem.
