Lampard risks sack

After Tottenham sacked Cristian Stellini following a run of one win in four games, Frank Lampard is under similar pressure after a fifth loss in a row.

The Chelsea legend oversaw the 2-0 defeat at home against Brentford having picked a starting XI with just one orthodox attacker and no natural striker.

It comes in the week that Mauricio Pochettino closes in on becoming the next permanent head coach at SW6. The Argentine wasn't present at the game but may well be needed sooner rather than later were Chelsea to follow the example set by Tottenham.

Double transfer meeting

The future of Chelsea loanee Romelu Lukaku is firmly up in the air with his temporary spell at Inter expiring at the end of the season.

The Belgian forward has been a consistent scorer in recent weeks, most recently netting a brace for Inter against Empoli. Upon his return, according to the Telegraph, he will be asked if he wishes to be a part of the new Chelsea era expected to be under Mauricio Pochettino.

That moment to discuss his future could arrive very soon, with Chelsea setting a meeting with Inter where they also plan to make an official approach for another star playing at San Siro.
