Chelsea news: Final four bidders share same stance as Thomas Tuchel gives Romelu Lukaku update

Chelsea's final four bidders all share the same stance when it comes to the future of director Marina Granovskaia.

The Russian-Canadian businesswoman plays a key role at the Stamford Bridge outfit and has helped secure some big-name signings as well as playing an active part in negotiating the contracts of players already at the club. But with Roman Abramovich putting the club up for sale following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, her future at the club has been left up in the air as it was previously unknown how any potential new owners would feel about keeping her at the club – but all four share the same view.

It comes as the UK government's stance on the final four bids has been revealed. And Thomas Tuchel has issued an update on Romelu Lukaku ahead of the Champions League tie with Real Madrid.

Governments' stance on final bids

There are four remaining bidders in the race, and they must all submit their final offers to buy the Blues on Thursday, April 14.

Granovskaia has earned a reputation as a fierce negotiator during her time with the Blues and could continue to be a key figure behind-the-scenes as new owners get to grips with the club. All four bidders have expressed a desire to keep her at the club – although that may not totally secure her future in west London long-term.

But reports have suggested she could be handed a significant offer to continue in her current role at overseeing the day-to-day running of things for the Blues from a business perspective.

Lukaku update given

Chelsea face the challenging prospect of having to overturn their Champions League deficit against Real Madrid without Romelu Lukaku.

The Blues fell to a 3-1 defeat in the first leg at Stamford Bridge following Karim Benzema's outstanding hat-trick. The return leg will take place on Tuesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium – but Thomas Tuchel says Lukaku has not traveled with the squad because of injury.
