Here is your Chelsea morning digest on Saturday, April 23.

Chelsea ‘interested’ in Demiral

Chelsea are reportedly one of a number of clubs interested in Juventus star Merih Demiral. That is according to Turkish journalist Yakup Çınar.

As quoted by TuttoJuve, he said: "The two Madrid teams, Real and Atletico, are very interested. I can say that Diego Simeone would like to see him in his team. In addition to these two teams, Everton and Chelsea would also be interested in a player like Merih [Demiral].”

Carlo Ancelotti requests Rudiger deal

One man who Demiral could potentially be replacing should he complete a move to Stamford Bridge is Antonio Rudiger. The German is out of contract at the end of the season and has been linked with a number of European clubs.

Now, former Chelsea boss and current Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has apparently lodged a personal request with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez for the Spanish giants to make a move for Rudiger. According to Marca, the former AS Roma man has lowered his wage demands, a move which could potentially facilitate a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu.

Lukaku’s Chelsea decision slammed

Former Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan has slammed Romelu Lukaku’s decision to return to Chelsea, claiming that he could have become the ‘best striker in the world’ had he stayed at the San Siro. The Belgian forward has of course again been linked with a switch back to Italy over recent months.

Speaking to beIN Sport, via Football Italia, Nainggolan said: “Had he stayed at Inter, he would have been the best striker in the world for four or five years and I keep telling him this.”
