Chelsea line-up £100m Victor Osimhen transfer to answer problematic Graham Potter concern

Todd Boehly spent close to £300million in the January transfer window. The Chelsea co-owner isn't expected to relax his spending spree next summer, with various reports claiming a new goalkeeper and striker is the priority.

Red Bull Leipzig striker Christopher Nkunku is already lined-up for a move to the Premier League after months of speculation. But amid Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's uncertain future and talk of Kai Havertz attracting interest from Bayern Munich, another option may be considered.

One player who has hit incredible heights is Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian has scored 43 goals in 82 appearances for Napoli with 15 goals in 20 this season. His form in Serie A has attracted plenty of interest across Europe and reports have claimed Chelsea have joined the hint for his signature.

According to the Mirror, Boehly will rival Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain for the target man this summer. The report insists that Napoli - who are currently top of Serie A - will demand around £100m for their striker, but as proved with Enzo Fernandez in January, the Blues are not worried about splashing the cash.

Chelsea's striker options have been limited this campaign following the summer exits of Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner. Aubameyang has struggled to adapt to life back in London and was subsequently omitted from Potter's Champions League squad for the second half of the season.

Osimhen has scored goals throughout his career and has produced across Europe. After failing to make a name for himself at Wolfsburg in Germany, the 24-year-old scored 20 goals in 36 games for Belgium side RSC Charleroi - earning a move to Lille.

In France, he netted 18 goals in his single season before being snapped up by Italian giants Napoli in 2020. Since then, he's been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time but a move has never materialised. However, at only 24, he still provides plenty of potential and fits the mould perfectly as a target man for Chelsea.
