Chelsea legend Didier Drogba could turn to management following retirement

Didier Drogba has revealed he could try his hand at management after announcing his retirement earlier this week.

The Chelsea legend officially ended his 20-year playing career at the age of 40 after playing his final game for Phoenix Rising, the club he co-owns in the American USL league.

Drogba has had the luxury of working under a number of world-class coaches in his eight years at Stamford Bridge., including Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.

And now the Ivorian feels he may be ready to get into the dugout himself after hanging up his boots.

"I've met enough managers to make it possible," he told Sky Sports Soccer AM.

"I've worked with a lot of managers - different skills, different approaches - and I've played with a lot of very good players who understand the game.

"I learned so much that this could be an option, a good option.

"When you have Mourinho, Ancelotti, all these managers, and players like Frank Lampard, John Terry, Michael Ballack, Petr Cech, all these guys, you learn a lot.

"In a dressing room you experience so many things so when I ask if management could an option. Why not? I think I could do well."

Drogba, who also had spells in Turkey, China and Canada, ended up on the losing side in his farewell game as Phoenix lost 1-0, finishing as runners-up in the USL Championship.
