Mason Mount is in the dark over his future after Chelsea rejected a third offer worth £55million for the midfielder from Manchester United.
United are now said to be pursuing other targets after reaching a stand-off with Chelsea, who want £65m for Mount.
Chelsea rejected United’s latest bid on Friday, worth £50m plus £5m in add-ons, and countered by requesting £58m plus £7m in add-ons.
Mount has had no further contact with United over the weekend.

He is keen on a move to Old Trafford but United are unwilling to meet Chelsea’s asking price for a player who has one year left on his contract.
The latest United bid has been left on the table while the club assess alternative options.
United also need to sign a striker and there are questions over how much they can spend on Mount.
United manager Erik ten Hag returns from his holiday later this week and could be crucial to any deal for the 24-year-old going ahead.
Mount is willing to walk away from Chelsea for free next summer should he not get the move this summer.
United would face increased competition for Mount should he leave on a Bosman transfer.
