Chelsea boss Graeme Potter has been full of praise for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United ahead of their encounter at St James' Park. The Magpies could extend their lead over the Blues to nine points if they continue their fine form in their final fixture before the World Cup break.
Both sides made changes for their midweek Carabao Cup clashes, with Newcastle booking their place in the fourth round with a penalty-shootout victory over Crystal Palace. Chelsea handed a first start to teenager Lewis Hall, but were on the wrong end of a 2-0 loss at champions Manchester City.
The Blues are without a win in their last four Premier League matches, and will be without a host of injured stars such as Ben Chilwell, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, and N'Golo Kante. Jorginho and Kepa Arrizabalaga are also both considered doubts due to foot injuries.

Speaking after Chelsea's Carabao Cup loss, Potter said: "They have had a fantastic season so far. Eddie's done a great job there and they will be pumped and ready for us because that's the nature of the Premier League and how they have started the season.
"We have to perform like we did tonight and learn a few little lessons and try and take another step forward. If we can do that then we can go there and get a result."
Potential Chelsea XI to face Newcastle United (3-4-3): Mendy; Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Koulibaly; Azpilicueta, Kovacic, Jorginho, Cucurella; Mount, Aubameyang, Sterling
