Chelsea in line for £95.4m transfer boost with four players set to follow Roman Abramovich out

The January transfer window has only been shut for just over a month but already questions are starting to circulate regarding Chelsea’s future business.

The reason behind that is due to Roman Abramovich officially announcing his intentions to sell the west London club sooner rather than later.

Having been a huge driving force behind the Blues’ domestic and European rise over the past two decades, supporters are doubtful over whether that success will continue without the Russian’s investment.

Whilst there appears to be some work to do on any potential takeover, the Blues could get together some much-needed transfer funds ahead of the summer by selling a few of the current squad.

football.london has taken a look at the candidates who could be on their way out of Stamford Bridge sooner rather than later.

Kepa Arrizabalaga

Ever since Edouard Mendy’s arrival in west London, Kepa’s prospects of being Chelsea’s number one have dwindled and if reports are to be believed, he could be on the way out sooner rather than later.

Newcastle United and Lazio have both been linked in the past but the Blues’ chances of receiving anywhere near the £72m that they paid Athletic Club for his services do not seem particularly high.

The Spaniard is valued at just £9m by transfermarkt at the current time, with over three years left to run on his Stamford Bridge contract.

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Whilst Kepa has been linked with a move to the Stadio Olimpico, he could potentially be joined by his current Chelsea teammate Callum Hudson-Odoi in the Italian capital.

It has been reported by LazioNews24 that the Cobham academy graduate is one of a number of options being considered by ex-Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.

The Blues would be in line for somewhat of a considerable windfall, with the 21-year-old valued at just under £29m at this stage.

Emerson Palmieri

Another on the Lazio shortlist, it appears that the Italian defender could be in line for a permanent move.

It has been suggested that his loan employers Lyon are beginning work on an extended stay for Emerson in France, whilst Lazio are again interested.

Signed for a reported £17m from Roma back in 2018, the defender is now valued at £12.6m.

Timo Werner

Potentially the most lucrative sale that the Blues could seal in the summer, Timo Werner could be another to wave goodbye to Stamford Bridge in the near future.

The German has struggled to find a consistent run of form since his big-money arrival from RB Leipzig, with Chelsea once again investing heavily in their forward line with the club-record arrival of Romelu Lukaku.

Bild have reported that Borussia Dortmund are ‘considering’ a move to take Werner back to the Bundesliga and a move could be lucrative for Chelsea with the German striker valued at £45m by transfermarkt.
