Chelsea in advanced talks for 'new Neymar' as £108m transformation set with deal agreed

Your morning Chelsea transfer round-up on Friday, June 30.

Advanced talks for Angelo Gabriel

Chelsea are closing in on a deal to sign Santos teenager Angelo Gabriel this summer. The attacker is set to completed a £15million move to Stamford Bridge and will continue a youth recruitment drive lead by the club.

Due to his position, age and origins with Brazilian giants Santos, the comparison to Neymar is clear and his first coach has already made the same claim when it comes to his playstyle as well.

A statement of his clear talents is that he has become the youngest ever player to feature in Copa Libertadores action for Santos, breaking the record held by current Real Madrid star Rodrygo. At 18, and as a player in Santos' successful side aged just 15, he has already notched up 129 senior appearances.

Pochettino gets major transformation

Only Conor Gallagher and Enzo Fernandez are likely to remain from the group of midfielders to get minutes for Chelsea in 2022/23. Carney Chukwuemeka's role further forward combined with the sales and expected departures of five central players, makes for quite the change.

In total the Blues are set to receive £108m for the sales of Mason Mount, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Mateo Kovacic whilst N'Golo Kante has also made his exit from the club having reached the end of his contract. Jorginho also left in January as the hole grows ever bigger.

Mason Mount agrees Manchester United deal

Chelsea and Manchester United have reached an agreement over a price for Mason Mount. The Red Devils will pay £55million plus a possible £5million in add-ons for the midfielder after three rejected bids.

Having knocked back the most recent offer, worth £50million and £5million in add-ons, it was thought that United may well walk away from talks and Mount would remain at Stamford Bridge, however, with both sides eager to get the transfer over the line they have now settled on a fee.

Mount, who will now finalise personal terms and have a medical ahead of the deal, will leave with just one year left on his deal having won the Champions League with his boyhood club.
