Chelsea home kit for 2022/23 'leaked' as American giant Walmart puts version on sale

American firm Walmart have seemingly confirmed the opinion-splitting 'College Navy' collar Chelsea home shirt for next season after putting a version for sale on their online store.

At this time of the year, most of the concept kits designed for next season are usually whittled down to a few designs and it seems the first year after Roman Abramovich's reign has ended will feature a home jersey that had split opinion. As already covered by football.london, a copy of Chelsea's new home shirt for the 2022/23 season appeared to have been leaked online.

Whilst the current season's kit certainly has a unique vibe, with it's crosshatch of patterns, and warped checks intended to give a feel of the 60s. Next season's version could be set for a return to a simpler style.

Walmart appear to be selling youth versions of the kits on their website for exactly $48.77 (approximately £38) which is the biggest hint yet that the home kit has already been internally confirmed by the club.

However, there are a few issues with the version on sale in the US store. As seen in the photo above, sponsors Three remain on the shirt despite having halted their relationship with the club. The sponsor remains on the current season's shirts despite the pause because the club do not have a stock of the shirts without sponsors on, and are unable to order more due to the sanctions.

Another issue with the version on sale is the lack of shirt manufacturer Nike. That is despite the company 'remaining committed' to Chelsea following the sanctions against owner Abramovich.

Chelsea fans - will you be buying the new 2022/23 home kit if the version above is the final design? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
