Chelsea have been told that they may have one key advantage over rivals Manchester United in the race to sign Tottenham star Harry Kane this summer. The England international captain has been linked with an exit from north London in the coming months as uncertainty creeps in over his future.
Kane has just over 12-months remaining on his current contract with the Lilywhites and as the side struggle in cup competitions and without a clear idea of progression, there is doubt over a stay. The latest concern comes over the future of another key figure in head coach Antonio Conte.
The Italian boss has his own deal expire this summer and his impassioned rant after a draw against Southampton at the weekend has only strengthened claims of a potential departure. "I'm not used to seeing this type of situation," The manager said at the weekend. "I see a lot of selfish players and I don't see a team."

With further question marks over the future of Conte also impact Kane, the potential for a transfer of the latter may be on the cards if Daniel Levy wishes to avoid losing the striker on a free the season after. Chelsea and Man United are linked with a switch, but its the Blues that have an advantage according to former Liverpool player Stan Collymore.
He told CaughtOffside: "If I were Kane, I would do everything in my power to get a move to Manchester United, but that’s me speaking as an older former pro, the fact Chelsea are based in London will probably play a big part as Kane’s family life may mean he doesn’t want to relocate too far away from where he has been for the majority of his playing career.
“The situation at Spurs is giving Harry Kane the perfect excuse to leave in the summer. He’s never had an easier way out. Seriously, who is honestly going to begrudge him a move elsewhere now?
“That man has done just about everything he can for Spurs but now, at the age of 29, soon to be 30, this summer is going to be possibly his last opportunity to move on and go to a club that stands a real chance of winning some major silverware. Whether that is Chelsea or Manchester United, who knows, but I guarantee that they’ll both be in the running for Kane come to the summer window.”
