Chelsea handed major transfer boost for £60m-rated star as Gleison Bremer puts Blues 'on alert'

Chelsea are expected to be one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League this summer as they look to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City at the top of the table.

Thomas Tuchel's side came third last term but have plenty of work to do to improve on that position. Under the ownership of Todd Boehly's consortium, transfer planning can finally get underway and plenty of names have already been linked with moves to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea are eager to bolster every position on the pitch for next season with a focus on defence after the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. With that in mind, football.london takes a look at the latest rumours from the club.

Gleison Bremer confirms transfer wish

Gleison Bremer has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea this summer as the Blues look to replace Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Speaking to ESPN via Sempre Inter, Bremer said: "I told the coach and the management [last summer]: 'I want to change now'. So they told me: "Stay this year, help us. Next year, you can take the next step."

"The fans already know that I have this desire to play in the Champions League, to go there to earn a call-up to the Brazilian national team. I need to play at a much better level, so I think it's a matter of time.

Juventus, Inter, and Tottenham have all been linked with a move for the Brazilian this summer. The 25-year-old continued: "I'm analysing some proposals but I think that next season I will no longer play for Torino."

Chelsea 'advantage' over Man United for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

According to reports from Italy, via Calciomercato, Chelsea hold an advantage over rivals United in the race for Milinkovic-Savic's signature due to the fact Erik ten Hag prefers a move for Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong. Both Newcastle and Arsenal do not have the attraction of Champions League football, meaning Chelsea reportedly have a clear run at signing the 27-year-old this summer.

Lazio director of sport Igli Tare has recently returned to Italy after spending a few days in London, where it’s reported he had meetings with several English sides who are keeping tabs on Milinkovic-Savic. Lazio's rumoured asking price of £60million and the Serbian's contract set to expire in June 2024, along with Lazio's failure to qualify for the Champions League again means Milinkovic-Savic's future at the club is seriously in doubt.

Thomas Tuchel 'obsession' targeted as part of Romelu Lukaku deal

Chelsea are coming around to the idea that they will be without Romelu Lukaku next season as the Belgian striker nears a return to Italy. The Blues are prepared to send the striker out on loan next season, with former club Inter Milan prepared to take back the forward that they sold for £97.5million last summer.

He is now keen to leave London after just a single season back in England and is reportedly ready to take a pay cut to ensure he can get out, with Chelsea currently in negotiations with Inter about sending him out on loan.

And, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Inter could even make the deal sweeter for Chelsea by helping them out with one of their own problem areas in the transfer market and giving them a chance to sign defender Denzel Dumfries as part of the deal to bring Lukaku back to the San Siro.

Inter value Dumfries at around £40million but could let him go for less if it meant securing Lukaku's return. It seems both clubs are eager to get the deal done sooner rather than later, with the same report suggesting that the Belgian will be undergoing his Inter medical as soon as next week.
