Chelsea will have to look for transfer alternatives this summer, having missed out on a few options already in the window. While a bid was accepted by Leeds for winger Raphinha, the Brazilian stalled on a move to Stamford Bridge.
The forward waited and waited until he finally got his dream move to Barcelona, leaving the Blues looking elsewhere for forward options. While Raheem Sterling made the switch to west London shortly after, players continued to be linked.
Next up was Bayern Munich’s Serge Gnabry, who only had one-year remaining on his contract in Bavaria. However, he too chose a different path and looks set to commit his future to a long-term deal at Bayern.

It leaves Thomas Tuchel, once again, looking for an alternative solution to his forward line problem. When asked about a lack of goals last season and whether his system is at fault, the manager said: “The structure is never the problem and the structure is never the solution, it is always the input of the players.
“The structure is fluid, in different structures you find different spaces. It is a lack of precision, not a lack of opportunities. It is the quality in decision-making.”
It shows a lot of the responsibility from the coach coming down to his players, with Sterling added to remedy that. While he has missed out on both Gnabry and Raphinha, another Bayern player could be available.
According to Marca, via the Mirror, former Manchester City winger Leroy Sane has been offered to Real Madrid this summer. The Germany international has three-years remaining on his contract, but that offer to the Spanish side could open up the possibility of a move away.
The 26-year-old scored 14 goals and assisted 15 across all competitions for his club last season and, perhaps even more importantly, has proven Premier League experience. If he is available, perhaps the Blues should jump at the chance to sign the forward this summer.
