Chelsea handed £50m transfer boost as major Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe decisions made

Chelsea are expected to have a very busy summer transfer window, with manager Thomas Tuchel attempting to mould the squad into one that represents his identity.

The Blues are fully expected to strengthen their backline given the fact that a fair few current first-team members have doubtful futures.

Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen and Cesar Azpilicueta are all out of contract this summer, and at this stage it looks likely that all three will leave Stamford Bridge, to the disappointment of fans.

Another area in which the west Londoners are likely to add to is within the engine room of the team.

Italian international Jorginho is a divided figure amongst the Chelsea fan base, with some valuing what he offers to the team possession-wise whilst others argue that an upgrade is required.

That upgrade could be Monaco midfield star Aurelien Tchouameni, who has been showered with immense praise in France for the consistent level of performances delivered.

As a result, a whole host of clubs have been monitoring the 22-year-old's current situation, with Real Madrid previously linked with a move for the £49.9 million midfielder.

But today's developments suggest that Los Blancos are putting all their efforts into adding more firepower to their attack.

According to Marca, Real Madrid will focus on strengthening their attack in the summer as opposed to pursuing a squad overhaul which could impact the club's financial position.

The likes of PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe Lottin and Borussia Dortmund's powerhouse Erling Haaland are both heavily linked with moves to the Spanish giants, so with that in mind, this could put Chelsea in the hot seat to sign Tchouameni, who are long term admirers of the French international and have been scouting him for many years.
