Chelsea given Inter Milan and AC Milan double transfer instruction after Arsenal Neymar verdict

Chelsea have been told that signing either Olivier Giroud or Edin Dzeko would be better business than Neymar.

ESPN pundits were given the question of start, bench or sell three forwards to have been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge ahead of the summer, with the aforementioned trio the names. All three players are now well into their 30s with Giroud and Dzeko very much out-and-out number nines, while Neymar is more of a left winger.

Former Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs gave his opinion first: “Drop Dzeko, bench Giroud and start Neymar. They do need a centre forward, though.”

American pundit Gabi Marcotti was having none of that, though, claiming that his Arsenal allegiance will have clouded his judgement. The Blues are already well stocked for wingers having spent a significant chunk of money to bring in Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke in January, with Raheem Sterling, Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech also already at Stamford Bridge.

Marcotti stated that Neymar would represent a dreadful piece of business for Chelsea this summer and believes the Brazilian would turn the club into an 'even bigger zoo', but is not convinced he is a real target anyway.

He said: “He’s [Gibbs] an Arsenal guy though isn’t he so he’s given it to you backwards. Can you imagine what a zoo, an even bigger zoo Chelsea would be with Neymar? Because yeah that’s really the area they are short is wingers, right?

"Plus you get this guy who disappears every spring for his sister’s birthday or whatever else. They’re not real Chelsea targets, Todd Boehly and co know better than that and I think we’ve been had there.”
