The Premier League have approved Chelsea’s front-of-shirt sponsorship deal with sports technology company Infinite Athlete.
The deal is reportedly worth £43million and will last only until the end of the season, with Blues executives already working on a longer-term sponsor from next summer.
Infinite Athlete will be displayed on both the men’s and women’s shirts but won’t likely be ready to be shown against Brighton in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night.
It could be first displayed away at Fulham on Monday night in the Premier League.
The league is satisfied that Chelsea’s majority owner Clearlake Capital having a minority stake in the company was not a significant cause for concern.
The delay in finding a sponsor hasn’t significantly impacted the financial terms of the deal with an announcement now being worked on for Wednesday morning.
Chelsea have faced difficulty finding a sponsor after the Premier League blocked a deal with broadcaster Paramount+ due to the risk of upsetting current rights holders.
They also faced anger from supporters for considering betting company Stake.com, amid work from the Chelsea Foundation to tackle problem gambling.
