Chelsea FC XI vs Burnley: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Premier League today

Trevoh Chalobah and Thiago Silva both make Chelsea’s starting line-up when the Blues face Burnley in the Premier League later today.

Hakim Ziyech is also in the squad for the first time since damaging his Achilles versus Lille in the Champions League. But Cesar Azpilicueta will miss out after failing to take part in training on Thursday.

Thomas Tuchel has revealed his concerns about his squad, with a number of players suffering from overload following the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool last weekend.

It led to a much-changed side for the 3-2 win against Luton, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek playing in a makeshift back three.

But for the trip to Burnley he has a near-full-strength squad, with Reece James starting for the first time since suffering a hamstring injury in December.

Tuchel said: “There are no fresh injuries. I still have to talk to the fitness coaches and doctors. Azpi was not in training yesterday so this will be a bit too close unfortunately for him.

“Hakim was in training, seemed good so hopefully he can come back. Reece James did training yesterday so no problems so far, no reactions after his two matches. It’s good.

“The guys who were not with us at Luton because of minor injuries – Trevoh and Thiago – were back in training yesterday and seem good to go.”

Saturday will be only Chelsea’s second Premier League game since the end of the January after their involvement in the Club World Cup and domestic cups.

Tuchel said: “It’s a very weird situation. We played two or three matches in the last six or seven weeks in the Premier League.

“Normally you have a feeling for the competition and have a feeling for where are we. We are on a good run, a good run of results, but you don’t see it on the table because we never got the points on the table because it was Club World Cup, Carabao Cup then the FA Cup.

“It is a bit strange, but still we are in a good place in the table and we have to fight hard to stay where we are and to give our very best.

“Tough game coming at Burnley. We think we know very well what is coming. There will be no presents for us there. We want to dig in and accept the fight.”

Chelsea starting XI: Mendy, Chalobah, Thiago Silva, Rudiger, James, Kante, Jorginho, Saul, Mount, Pulisic, Havertz
