Sergio Aguero has named John Terry as the best centre-back he ever played against in the Premier League.
Aguero, who moved on from Manchester City in the summer transfer window to join Barcelona before retiring due to health problems, played in the English top-flight for a decade.
In that time, the 33-year-old Argentine would have played against some of the best central defenders to ever grace the Premier League, but Terry is at the top of the list for Aguero.
During a Twitter Q&A session, Aguero was asked: "[Who was the] best centre-back you ever played against in the Premier League?", to which the Argentine replied: "Terry".
Terry is a legend at Chelsea Football Club, after the former captain won an incredible 17 major honours during his 19-year spell with the west Londoners.
Plenty of Blues fans, rivals and pundits alike regard the now 41-year-old as the best centre-back the Premier League has ever seen - and with good reason.
Former Liverpool vice-captain Jamie Carragher, who played alongside Terry for the England national team, agrees with Aguero's verdict on the ex-Chelsea star.
Speaking to talkSPORT in 2020, Carragher said this on Terry: "For me, he was the best centre-back of the Premier League era. He was my type of player. He was basically a better version of me, to be honest.
"I think his football ability is massively underrated. He was a great player. When I was going through my list, I did not have an English player and I wanted to get someone in there and I thought I would go for John Terry as I could not get Stevie [Gerrard] in!
"He [Terry] could switch the ball 40 or 50 yards on his left foot. I always felt it was John Terry who was the defender and Rio Ferdinand was the footballer, but Rio was a much better defender than he was given credit for and I think John Terry was a much better footballer than he was given credit for."
