Chelsea co-owners Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital are approaching one-year in charge of the club, having won the race to buy the Blues in May last year. It's been a whirlwind time since then, with a whole host of structural changes, managerial decisions and, of course, plenty of transfers.
With a lot of the groundwork out of the way though, there will be hopes that stability will be in place for the new philosophy to take off. One of the next steps will be integrating a continual process of bringing through youth talent year after year into the first-team, though this will take further work.
A way of sorting this would be through having a family of clubs within the structure, with Todd Boehly confirming interest in this at a SALT conference: "We’ve talked about having a multi-club model. I would love to continue to build out the footprint. There are different countries where there are advantages to having a club. Red Bull does a good job. Manchester City has a big network of clubs.

"Our goal is to ensure pathways for our young stars to get on to the Chelsea pitch while getting them real game time. To do that is through another club in a really competitive league in Europe."
Amid such interest in branching out the club, it appears as though Boehly may have been offered a chance to expand with a new side. Journalist Romain Molina claims: "Chelsea is looking for subsidiaries, mainly in France. They have even been offered Bordeaux. It is not the only club that has been offered to them. Dijon has been approached by another English club."
It remains to be seen if the Blues' ownership will make the step into landing a new club as part of a multi-club model, however it could be the next big step in their ascent towards the top again.
