Chelsea appear to be eyeing potential replacements for Mason Mount if the midfielder is allowed to leave the club in the summer transfer window. The 24-year-old is approaching the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, with the Blues willing to allow an exit if an agreement isn't reached by the transfer window.
That's to stop the Cobham Academy graduate leaving on a free deal after, with the possibility of a switch seeming more likely as talks over an extension stall. The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool have been linked with a swoop for the England international in the coming months.
"Ultimately it is between the club and Mason," Chelsea manager Graham Potter said in a press conference earlier this month. "I have spoken to him numerous times about his situation, football and life generally. My feelings for Mason are clear. He is a fantastic person firstly but sometimes these things happen.

"They are just complicated and it is best that I speak little about it, let them get on with it in deciding what is right for both parties. I am not naive. I know it is an important time for him and an important contract. These things have to be right for him and his family. It’s important he makes a decision on that basis."
While there is uncertainty over the future of Mount, plans to succeed him appear to be in place as rumours linking Chelsea with other options emerge. One of which is Fulham's Andreas Pereira as ESPN reports that the playmaker is eyed as a target for the Blues in the coming months.
The former Manchester United star made the switch to west London last summer after a decade spent at Old Trafford and has impressed since becoming a first-team regular. The report claims that Fulham value Periera at £25-to-£35million and a move could depend on the future of manager Marco Silva.
