The Italian, however, maintained that his team were not ready for a title push, warning that a slump would arrive sooner rather than later.
The slump has finally arrived, as Chelsea are without a win in their last four games in all competitions (2 L, 2 D). Real Madrid superstar Kylian Mbappe kicks off the star-studded list, having hit the back of the net five times in eight outings since the start of December.
The French forward, who joined the club on a free in July, last scored in Real Madrid’s 4-2 win over Sevilla on 22nd December. It also marked his best performance of the period, as he chipped in not only with a goal but also an assist.
The 26-year-old has not been at his sublime best this season, but his output has still been more than satisfactory. He has played 26 games for the club this season, scoring 14 times and providing four assists.
#9 Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid): 5 Goals
Atletico Madrid have emerged as strong contenders for the La Liga title this season, and Antoine Griezmann is one of the key reasons why. He has been popping up with crucial goals and assists, scoring five times already since the start of December.
The Frenchman last scored in Atletico’s 1-0 victory over Marbella in the Copa del Rey Round of 32 on 4th January. His finest showing came in the La Liga clash with Sevilla on 8th December. He scored a brace to help Atletico to a 4-3 victory over Sevilla.

In the eighth position, we have Chelsea centre-forward Marc Guiu, who has hit the back of the net five times despite playing just three matches since the beginning of December.
The 19-year-old forward delivered a masterclass in his last start for Chelsea on 19th December. In the UEFA Europa Conference League clash against Shamrock Rovers, the former Barcelona man scored an excellent hat-trick, propelling his team to a 5-1 victory. Surprisingly, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has only permitted him nine minutes of action since.

Jesus last found the netting in the Gunners’ 3-1 victory over Brentford in the Premier League on 1st January. The Brazilian’s most impressive performance of the season, on the other hand, came in the EFL Cup quarter-final clash against Crystal Palace on 18th December. He scored a superb hat-trick to seal a 3-2 victory over the Eagles.

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham had a sluggish start to the 2024-25 season, as he failed to score in his first seven games in La Liga. He has since turned a corner, now emerging as one of the most consistent goalgetters in the team. Over the last 40 days, Bellingham has played eight games for Los Blancos in all competitions, scoring six goals.
