Chelsea drop huge early team news hint ahead of London derby clash with Tottenham

Chelsea may have dropped a huge team news hint ahead of their clash with Tottenham on Sunday. The huge fixture will be the club's first London derby of the new Premier League season, where the Blues may have their top four and title credentials properly tested by their opponents.

The two sides have undergone plenty of change over the summer months, with Thomas Tuchel making a number of additions to his squad. Despite the moves made already, the German coach is still looking for new faces to come through the door at Stamford Bridge in the final month of the window.

"We can add, but we are open for everything," Tuchel told the media after an opening day victory over Everton. "We can use new energy, fresh legs and fresh input. I think we could use some more input and some more quality."

They will be facing a new-look Spurs team when they host their London rivals at home, with former boss Antonio Conte making six additions to his squad over the break. The Italian will be looking to find a rare win for the Lilywhites at Stamford Bridge, which has been an unhappy hunting ground in recent years.

The game may give a better barometer to exactly where this Chelsea side are, given just how many unknown quantities there are still within the side. While five substitutions make switches much easier, the starting selection from Tuchel may be crucial in getting a result out of the match.

The defence may be a particular area of interest, with plenty of changes made there in the past month, including the arrivals of Kalidou Koulibaly and Marc Cucurella. Both made their debut at Goodison Park and may feature once again, but against a tricky forward line that Spurs have at their disposal.

So the contribution, especially of Koulibaly, could be crucial within the game and Chelsea appear to have hinted at his availability for the clash. Taking to Twitter, the official account posted a pre-match hype graphic advertising the game, with the Senegal international shown front and centre.

While it isn't always the case that players featured on such a graphic will start, it suggests he could at least be involved and may be an important player for his new side in taking a positive result.
