Manchester United have reportedly offered Ousmane Dembele an eye-watering £480,000-a-week, with Chelsea also monitoring his situation.
That's according to ABC, who say that United are looking for a new attacker and they feel the France international fits the bill.
football.london understands that Chelsea are monitoring Dembele's situation at Barca, with the former Borussia Dortmund forward having six months remaining on his contract.
Recently, Barcelona's director of football, Mateu Alemany, revealed that Dembele will be sold this month after failing to agree terms on a new contract at the Nou Camp.
He said: "With Ousmane and with his agents we began conversations in the month of July, during all this time, it has been six months almost seven months, we have talked, we have spoken, Barca has made different offers, we have tried to find a way for him to continue with us.
"Those offers have been systematically rejected by their agents. And today, January 20, 11 days before the end of the last term within his contract, it is evident, it seems obvious to us, that the player does not want to continue at Barcelona and therefore is not committed to Barca's future project.
"In this scenario, he and his agents have been told that he must leave immediately, because we want players committed to this project, and therefore we expect a transfer before January 31.
"The sporting consequence of all this, valued by the technicians and by our coach, is that we do not want to have with us players who are not committed to the project and who do not want to be at Barca and therefore the fact that he is not called up is no more than a consequence of this whole process.
"The club obviously is not the one that should determine this, it is the coach who has determined it, but he has our support and we think it is a totally coherent attitude."
Despite these claims, reports in Spain are suggesting that Dembele and Barca have reached an agreement and that the Frenchman is set to extend his stay with the La Liga outfit.
What has Tuchel said about Dembele?
Dembele and Thomas Tuchel have a strong relationship already, with the Frenchman and German working together during their days at Borussia Dortmund.
Earlier in the month, Tuchel was asked about his former winger and it is clear that the Chelsea boss remains a huge admirer of the Barcelona attacker, despite the injury problems he has suffered with since leaving Dortmund.
"He’s a very good player, and I am very fortunate to have trained him in my time at Dortmund. It was only one year, it should have been longer, but I needed to leave and he decided to leave," Tuchel said.
"We are not in close contact, we have met here and there because of his duties for the French national team when I was in Paris. We exchanged some messages. I have absolutely no idea why he is in this situation, I don’t know the details, so it’s better not to talk."
