Chelsea dealt major Kingsley Coman blow as RB Leipzig chief drops fresh Christopher Nkunku hint

Your morning Chelsea transfer roundup on Saturday, December 10.

RB Leipzig chief drops fresh Christopher Nkunku transfer hint

Nkunku has signed a pre-contract agreement with the Blues ahead of a move for the 2023/24 season, as football.london reported back in October. The French forward scored an astonishing 31 goals and also registered 20 assists in 48 appearances for the German club in all competitions last term – and was deservedly crowned the Bundesliga Player of the Season.

Leipzig have repeatedly played down the rumours regarding Nkunku's future, but Eberl, who held his first press conference since taking over as sporting director on Friday, has hinted that the Frenchman's departure is virtually assured. When asked about the France international, he responded: "With Christo, I can’t confirm anything yet.

"There is a lot of interest and a lot of talk with us. Accordingly, something is looming."

Chelsea dealt major Kingsley Coman transfer blow

According to SportBILD journalist Christian Falk, via Sport Witness, Bayern would not be interested in a swap for Coman involving Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic, as it would be similar to swapping "a Ferrari for a Fiat".

The Bundesliga outfit signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool in the summer which led to speculation that Coman or Leroy Sane could leave the club.

Chelsea were keen on a deal for Coman and their plan was to make a bid for the French star and potentially include Pulisic as part of the deal to try and bring down the price. Falk, though, says Bayern would not be interested in such an offer as "they are very, very happy with Coman" at this moment in time.

Chelsea set for Yunus Musah transfer battle

Valencia are attempting to extend his deal in an effort to stave off interest from the Premier League, according to 90Min. His current deal, which already runs through to 2026, has a €100million (£86million) release clause, but no doubt the Spanish side would like that increased.

Jurgen Klopp's side are thought to be keen on strengthening their ageing midfield, whilst Chelsea could also do with adding more youth and energy to Graham Potter's squad. Mikel Arteta is still after midfield reinforcements after the Gunners missed out on a deal for Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz on Deadline Day in the summer.

The report adds that Arsenal have been tracking Musah's development ever since he left their academy in 2019, but now both Chelsea and Liverpool have made contact with the 20-year-old's representatives to register their interest in a transfer.
