Chelsea could have Christopher Nkunku alternative as £110m-star 'demands' exit as bids line up

Chelsea are said to be keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid star Joao Felix after the attacker reportedly made his intentions clear to leave in January.

According to Spanish news outlet, Marca, Felix has informed his agent Jorge Mendes that he would like to leave in January. It comes after his relationship with Simeone and parts of the Wanda Metropolitano crowd has deteriorated.

Mendes, as a result, has been said to be looking to tempt clubs into a move in the upcoming transfer window. Felix's future has always come underfire since his emergence at Benfica then Atletico with Manchester United previously among the list of contenders to acquire his services.

In light of the news, Chelsea have joined the race for his signature. However, they do have competition as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United all monitor the situation brewing in the red half of the Spanish capital.

He currently has four years remaining on his current deal with the Rojiblanco but in order to balance the books and circumstances surrounding the nimble attacker, they may be forced into a sale.

The World Cup could be an opportunity for Felix to enhance his reputation and increase his transfer fee. He already has a goal in the competition as Fernando Santos' side edged past Ghana 3-2.

Christopher Nkunku was said to have completed a medical from RB Leipzig but has since suffered a knee injury which has ruled him out of the World Cup.
