Chelsea could choose Robert Lewandowski or Man City long term target for Erling Haaland answer

Recent rumours have suggested that Chelsea could be looking for a move for Robert Lewandowski. Expert in European football, Julien Laurens, has claimed that the Blues should go for Lewandowski if they are to close the gap between Manchester City and Liverpool. While I believe that Thomas Tuchel could use a prolific goal scorer in his team to adapt to his system, other options can be explored.

The fallacy of 'Bundesliga tax" is too risky. Whether or not it is real, the evidence suggests that it is much easier to be an exceptional goal-scorer in Germany than in England. Just ask Timo Werner. Once a 25+ goal a season player has struggled to reach ten this season.

Players such as Lewandowski and Erling Haaland sound appealing, but there's no one more accustomed to the struggles of the Premier league than a player who has been here all of his career. So I think I'd instead take up Jermaine Jenas' offer.

Jermaine Jenas told BBC Sport that Tottenham's Harry Kane could join Chelsea in the summer transfer window. Seeing as Manchester City has now officially signed Erling Haaland, there is no reason for the English International to hope for a move to the northern tier of England. Instead, he could look to the West end of London.

Despite having the top four pretty much secure following Arsenal's defeat to Newcastle, Harry Kane could still be on the hunt for a new challenge. He made his intentions to leave Tottenham clear last season. Having been heavily linked with Pep Guardiola's side, it was a miracle that Daniel Levy was able to tie him down for another season.

The move for Romelu Lukaku hasn't quite worked as well as Thomas Tuchel would have hoped. The expectation of a prolific goal scorer was not met for one reason or the other. It seems as though the preferred Tuchel system just does not suit the Belgian. Lukaku had previously shown himself to be a 30+ goal a season type of player during his time at Inter Milan. However, his Premier League record with Manchester United isn't quite a stellar achievement.

Kane, on the other hand, has proven himself to be an efficient goal scorer in England's most prestigious league. He has thrived in different systems, under Mauricio Pochettino, Jose Mourinho and now Antonio Conte. Chelsea would be out of their minds to not at least try this summer for his signature before looking at a Robert Lewandowski transfer.

If Chelsea are the close the gap to their Premier League rivals, Lewandowski would be nice, yes, but call me crazy, Harry Kane would be better.
