Chelsea have confirmed the signing of England goalkeeper Hannah Hampton on a free transfer from Aston Villa.
The 22-year-old shot-stopper is one of the country's most promising up-and-coming talents and was part of the Lionesses' Euros-winning squad last summer. She came through the ranks at Birmingham City before joining local rivals Villa in 2021, where she went on to make 43 appearances across all competitions.
Following the expiry of her contract with Carla Ward's side, Hampton is available on a free transfer and has opted to join the Blues on an three-year deal until 2026.
She said told chelseafc.com: "I’m very excited! It’s a massive club, it’s an honour to be a part of this and to be able to wear the club’s badge. I want to keep improving, to help the team however I can and I’d love to win some trophies with the club at the same time."

Manager Emma Hayes added: "There is no doubt that Hannah is one of the best young goalkeepers in the world. Her performances have been improving year on year, and we have high hopes for her future with us."
Hampton joins Chelsea's already strong line-up of goalkeepers. Ann-Katrin Berger remains number one, while she will also have Zecira Musovic and new signing Nicky Evrard to compete with.
Reports suggest Hampton could go out on loan for the 2023/24 season, with Brighton the club most heavily linked with a move, according to the Evening Standard. Hampton becomes Chelsea's sixth signing of the summer, following Evrard, Sjoeke Nusken, Catarina Macario, Ashley Lawrence and Alejandra Bernabe through the door.
