Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to securing a permanent move to AC Milan ahead of next season. football.london understands that talks have been ongoing between the two clubs with negotiations progressing well.
football.london reported in April that AC Milan had made contact with Chelsea over a potential summer move for Loftus-Cheek. There have been no official talks to renew his deal leading to speculation that he could leave the club ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Milan are expected to lose star midfielder Sandro Tonali with the Italian closing in on a move to Newcastle this summer. The Italian outfit have identified Loftus-Cheek as a target and are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea regarding a €15million (£12.8million) deal, according to Calciomercato.
Loftus-Cheek played 33 games in all competitions last term, scoring two goals for the Blues. During his time at Stamford Bridge, he also went out on loan twice – once at Crystal Palace and then again at Fulham.
Mauricio Pochettino wants to add a new central midfielder to the squad this summer and this could see Loftus-Cheek fall further down the pecking order. Mateo Kovacic is close to securing a switch to Premier League champions Manchester City, whilst Conor Gallagher could also leave the club.
football.london understands Chelsea are pushing to sign Brighton star Moises Caicedo as they look to bolster their squad ahead of next season. Caicedo can play in central midfield and has operated at right-back under Roberto De Zerbi - similar to how Loftus-Cheek has played in midfield and covered for Reece James in defence.

A report from The Times has stated that Todd Boehly is unwilling to pay over £80million for Caicedo. Manchester United have since contacted the Ecuador international's representatives as they look to alternative targets for Mason Mount.
United have prioritised a move for Mount this summer and have tabled a final bid worth £55million. Chelsea want a fee in the region of £65million including add-ons - but Erik ten Hag's side are refusing to improve their offer and are now considering other options, including Caicedo.
