Chelsea Clinton calls out Jay-Z's reaction to Beyonce's post-baby body transformation in Homecoming

Beyonce’s fitness transformation in Netflix documentary Homecoming saw the star train hard to prepare her body for her demanding 2018 Coachella performance.

At the time, Beyonce said she was “sacrificing and working so hard” to get ready for the show.

Now Chelsea Clinton has called out the reaction of the singer’s husband Jay-Z, whose response to Beyonce hitting a major milestone was underwhelming.

Clinton, who is the daughter of Bill and Hillary Clinton, told The Cut that she had watched Homecoming with her own husband Marc Mezvinsky. She discussed one moment in the documentary, where Beyonce proudly reveals to Jay-Z that she’s able to fit back into an old Destiny’s Child outfit after giving birth to twins and the rapper simply laughs and says, “All right.”

Clinton said, “I said, ‘Marc, if that’s ever me, you better have more enthusiasm.’ It wasn’t the ‘I’m so proud of you. That’s amazing’ that I think arguably any woman deserves, particularly someone who has clearly worked herself body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit to get to that place.”

In the documentary clip, Beyonce shows her husband the look on Facetime. As Jay-Z repeats “all right” and laughs, Beyonce eventually tells him, “All right. Just had to share.”

Speaking to The Cut, Clinton said, “I was like, ‘I bet every woman watching this has this sense of she deserves more enthusiasm.’ Marc was like, ‘I got it. Can we go back to watching it, please? We’ve talked about it three times in the last 90 seconds.’”

Clinton shares three children with Mezvinsky: a newborn son Jasper, three year old son Aidan and 5 year old daughter Charlotte. The author has previously talked about what it’s like being “outnumbered” by her children, as well as touching on why she and her husband are so protective of their children’s privacy.

“We're very careful to not share images of our kids' faces or things that are specific about their schools or activities. My most important responsibility is to protect them. We're always trying to figure out what is right and appropriate there. I'm a public figure but if there's ever a question we think first of always protecting their privacy,” she previously told Parade Magazine.
