Chelsea can return favour to Barcelona with Bayern Munich transfer trick after Raphinha blow

Considering that Chelsea have lost out to Barcelona for the signature of Raphinha, there is still a slot that the Blues would like to fill in their attack ahead of the new season. Raheem Sterling will sign for the Blues following his medical in London and is expected to join Chelsea on their pre-season tour in Los Angeles. Who else will join him remains a mystery.

There are a number of options that can make up for the loss of Raphinha but ultimately they are not as easily attainable. Bayern Munich are in possession of a few gems that could be out of contract soon or could want an exit as early as possible. It would be criminal not to assess these options as possibilities for Thomas Tuchel.

The Germans are making hedway to sign Chelsea target Matthijs de Ligt. They will, however, need to match Juventus' £70 million asking price.

Thomas Tuchel has urged Chelsea to try for Robert Lewandowski, despite his interest in a move to Barcelona. The facts are that the Catalans are in a difficult financial situation on which Chelsea could capitalise. Having put a dent in Chelsea's run-in for Raphinha, it's only right to repay the favour with a run at Lewandowski.

The Poland international would be the ideal transfer for Chelsea right now. Chelsea are in a situation where they need a Romelu Lukaku replacement.

As well as Lewandowski, Serge Gnabry could make for a tasty option for the Blues if they are desperate to bolster their attack. The German's contract runs out in 2023 and has been linked with a potential move to Liverpool. Since his move to Bayern Munich, he has scored 64 goals and made 40 assists in 174 games.

Having Serge Gnabry on the opposite wing of Raheem Sterling will almost feel like a mirror in productivity. The 26-year-old's versatility and lethal shot on goal is similar to Sterling's, making a potentially. dangerous partnership across Chelsea's front three.

These are just two of Chelsea's options to explore as the start of the season draws closer. Raphinha is off the table, Ousmane Dembele is too. Who could Chelsea look to next?
