Thomas Tuchel has been handed a one-match ban and a £35,000 fine following his FA charge as a result of the scenes where he clashed with Antonio Conte at the end of Chelsea's draw with Spurs last weekend.
His ban has been suspended temporarily pending the independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions. Conte has been handed a £15,000 fine but escaped any ban.
The pair each received a red card for their part in the clash which sparked upon the final whistle when Tuchel failed to let go of Conte's hand and gestured for his Italian counter-part to look him in the eyes when shaking hands. That saw the duo go head to head with players and coaching staff alike come together around the dugouts, though their appeared to be no physical altercations.

The Premier League coaches had each already picked up a yellow card as a result of a clash following Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg's goal.
Tuchel and Conte were charged on Monday with a breach of FA Rule E3 with the FA suggesting it was 'alleged that the behaviour of both managers was improper following the end of this fixture'. Both bosses had until Thursday to provide their response before an independent commission decided their respective punishments on Friday.
An FA Spokesperson said: “An independent Regulatory Commission has today ordered that Thomas Tuchel be fined £35,000 and banned from the touchline for one match, and Antonio Conte be fined £15,000 after they respectively breached FA Rule E3. Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte admitted that their behaviour after the final whistle of the Premier League game between Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur FC on Sunday 14 August 2022 was improper, and both managers requested a paper hearing. These sanctions are subject to appeal, and Thomas Tuchel’s one match touchline ban has been suspended temporarily pending the independent Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for its decisions that will be made available in due course.”
Speaking about what led to the incident in his Friday press conference, Tuchel said :“I think it was passion between two men who fought for their team. It was not more. I hope they don’t make more out of it. Of course in the context, a hair pulling two minutes before.
"It’s not that big of a deal, for me. It was about passion and nothing more. He was fighting for his team, I was fighting for my team. As you hopefully felt before we played Tottenham last season with Conte, and now, I have nothing but biggest respect for him and this will not change because of that incident.”
Leeds United boss Jesse Marsch may be unhappy to see Tuchel on the sideline this weekend.. The American coach was surprised when it was suggested that Tuchel could appear on the bench.
He said: "I mean if you get a red card, you are out of the match. I would be disappointed if they allowed him to be on the bench. There's a simple rule in football. Whether it's soccer or football, you cannot play the next match."
