Chelsea and Arsenal Women were both back in WSL action tonight after a history-making Conti Cup final on Sunday.
The Blues and Gunners had no time to dwell as they were back in Women's Super League action just a few days after the final which saw Arsenal clinch the first piece of silverware this season.
Chelsea hosted manager-less Brighton at Kingsmeadow while Arsenal hosted Liverpool in two very fast-paced and eventful midweek WSL games.

Both London sides took the lead in their respective matches as Guro Reitin put the Blues ahead within 15 minutes from the spot. Meanwhile across London, Leah Williamson found the back of the net but it was called offside. Minutes later, they went ahead 1-0 when a goal from Stina Blackstenius counted.
By half time, both Brighton and Liverpool were trailing 2-0 against their London opponents.
Chelsea's Reiten continued her good form throughout the game picking the ball up in pockets of space and creating chances for the Blues. Hayes' side got their third goal in the 71st minute.
It ended 3-1 at Kingsmeadow after Brighton pulled one back with some lovely football and a goal from Danielle Carter, while Arsenal sent Liverpool walking with a 2-0 win against the Reds.
Chelsea close in on Manchester City who are just one point in front of the Blues in the WSL table, while Arsenal reduced the gap to chase down the top three.
You could say Chelsea are sending a message to the rest of the league as they signed Belgium international goalkeeper Nicky Evrard earlier in the week as Arsenal still remain without a bolstered squad.
Emma Hayes' side next face top-of-the table Manchester United at home on Saturday for a 12.30pm kick-off.
Jonas Eidevall will be looking to continue his winning run of games as they play Reading on Sunday in the WSL evening kick-off at 6.45pm.
