Chelsea seem to be ending deadline day on a bit of a lull- without much happening in west London whilst competitors continue to strengthen ahead of the remaining 2021/22 campaign.
Liverpool have added Luis Diaz and are in talks to finalise a move for Fulham's Fabio Carvalho whilst Man City have confirmed the signing of Sergio Aguero's long-term heir in the form of River Plate's Julian Alvarez.
The Blues had the intention of signing a temporary Ben Chilwell replacement but Marina Granovskaia's attempts to bring back Emerson Palmieri from his loan spell at Lyon has come to no avail, football.london understands.
Sergino Dest, Leyvin Kurzawa and Borna Sosa were a few names linked to making a late move to the European Champions but the Blues haven't aggressively pursued any of the aforementioned trio.
It seems as though they will be trusting Kenedy and Lewis Hall to provide significant cover for Marcos Alonso going forward for the remainder of the season.
Despite the frustrations from the west London faithful and Thomas Tuchel himself who wanted to see at least one player come in, with Ousmane Dembele creating the most noise in recent days, football.london have spoken about the potential big summer transfer window that is just around the corner.
All of Declan Rice, Jules Kounde, Raphinha and the defensive contractual rebels have been discussed in our recent Q&A that we have done on deadline day, so without no further ado, here are the best responses from our club writers to a range of your questions.
Please I want to know the latest on Kounde, Declan Rice, and Raphinha?
Scott Trotter said: "While those moves won't happen today bar a miracle, they are names that indicate Chelsea could be in for a busy summer.
"Kounde and Rice in particularly will solve problems that won't be resolved by the summer, but won't come cheap.
"Raphinha is a really interesting one, though Chelsea have so many players in similar positions at the moment, they will likely need to move some players on first. Who knows though, maybe Thiago Silva has spent the international break telling him how nice Stamford Bridge is."
What's the status on Azpilicueta, Rudiger and Christensen?
Scott Trotter said: "The situations are still very much up in the air with their contracts being set to expire at the end of the season.
"While salary has been a stickling point for Rudiger and Christensen, it's the length of the deal that has been the issue for Azpilicueta. The Chelsea veteran is 32 now, and as such Chelsea are reluctant to commit to a long term deal. Barcelona are reported to have offered an additional year to the Blues, leaving a difficult decision.
"The longer Rudiger's contract situation goes on, I'd actually be more confident than previously. Perhaps his options are not proving quite as fruitful as anticipated. Chelsea are still at the table, though it seems they will have to lift their contract offer to be convincing enough. It doesn't seem the German international is in a rush to make the decision however.
"Christensen has proved more problematic with Tuchel dropping the Denmark international as a result of negotiations earlier in the season. Bayern Munich are the latest club to be linked but there are still few teams that can offer the salary he is hoping for. Like with Rudiger, it will be a waiting game to see if anyone is willing to pay for his demands."
