An eight bedroom townhouse has been sold to a foreign buyer at the Chelsea Barracks development for £60 million in one of the highest value transactions this year.
The 14,704 sq ft Squire & Partners designed residence is on Whistler Square at the 12.8 acre Qatari Diar scheme near Sloane Square.
The sale is the highest value transaction on the street so far and thought to be the third most expensive town house sale in Belgravia since 2021.
Agents Knight Frank, which handled the sale, claim there have only been eight townhouse sales above £30 million and just four town house sales above £50 million this year. Two of these transactions were at Chelsea Barracks.
The townhouse has a spa with 12 metre pool and steam room, cinema, wine room, garage, elevators between all seven floors, a roof terrace and a mews house at the end of the south facing garden.
To date Knight Frank has sold in excess of £500 million worth of property at Chelsea Barracks, previous transactions included the scheme’s flagship 16,000 sqft Grand Penthouse.
Rupert des Forges, Head of Prime Central London Developments at Knight Frank, said: “Chelsea Barracks continues to be one of prime central London’s standout performers, attracting interest from across the globe. The substantial sale demonstrates that despite ongoing economic uncertainty London remains top of the list for the world’s global buyers.”
Richard Oakes, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, at Qatari Diar, said: “We are delighted to complete the sale of another Whistler Square townhouse at Chelsea Barracks, a transaction of significant merit in the super-prime market.
“The consistent sales success we have achieved is testament to our core offerings – prioritising excellent design and world-class amenities in a prime London location. These values will go on to drive us next year as we look to continue our success in the lead-up to the completion of 9 Mulberry Square and a further 48 finished residences.”
