Chelsea’s young striker Armando Broja has finally joined up with Thomas Tuchel’s side on their pre-season tour, taking the same private jet used to bring Raheem Sterling to Los Angeles.

The 20-year-old remains a major target for West Ham who are set to match Everton’s £30million approach with the Albania international keen to learn more about his future.

There have now been extensive talks in west London on whether to accept the offers to reinvest in the squad with manager Thomas Tuchel and co-owner Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali all involved in the decisions.

There are thought to have been half a dozen meetings already involving Boehly solely on the decision to sell or keep Broja.

Former Blues manager Frank Lampard is also driving the Toffees’ interest in Broja with Newcastle also in the frame.

The other focus in west London has been on incoming signings with the west London side now confident of securing two defenders in the coming week.

Napoli’s Kalidou Koulibaly is in advanced talks over a £33m move, joining Manchester City’s Nathan Ake who could re-join his former club for a fee of around £45m.

However, the Blues will soon announce the signing of Raheem Sterling who arrived with Broja for pre-season.

Chelsea are delighted to have secured their first bit of business of the summer at £47.5m and insist they will be ambitious under this new ownership group.

They could sign several more players in this transfer window, targeting another attacker and possibly another defender.

Additional potential targets include attackers like AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Bayern Munich Serge Gnabry. It follows changes in strategy after Leeds’ Raphinha rejected Chelsea’s £55m approach to join Barcelona.

There’s also further interest in defenders like Sevilla’s Jules Kounde and Bayern’s Dayot Upamecano.

So far, there’s little prospect that Chelsea will follow up their initial interest or meetings with Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes.
