Chelsea aim to raise £120m in transfer funds as Blues ready improved offer for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea will target a second wave of player sales after starting their summer clear-out with deals that will bank them around £120million.

The Blues have agreed to sell Kai Havertz to Arsenal for £65m, Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City for £30m, Kalidou Koulibaly to Al-Hilal for £17m and Hakim Ziyech to Al-Nassr for £8m.

Those deals will also save Chelsea millions on wages and are a major boost as they bid to balance their books and reduce the size of their squad.

Chelsea will try to offload a further nine players, including Edouard Mendy, Romelu Lukaku, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Christian Pulisic and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Marc Cucurella, Malang Sarr and Ethan Ampadu could also leave.

Manchester United have had their latest bid of £50m for Mason Mount rejected but the midfielder is another player who could depart.

Chelsea want to offload unwanted players before June 30, so the sales can be included in their financial accounts for 2022-23.

The huge money raised by player sales will boost their bids for transfer targets.

Brighton are braced for an improved offer for Moises Caicedo, having recently rejected a £60m offer from Chelsea for the midfielder.

Chelsea are also closing in on the signing of Villarreal striker Nicolas Jackson.
