The Denver Broncos only used five picks in the NFL draft last week, but they came away from the draft with six new players after completing a trade with the New Orleans Saints.
The Broncos traded a sixth-round pick to the Saints in exchange for a seventh-round pick and tight end Adam Trautman, who previously requested a trade after seeing his role diminished in New Orleans’ offense last season.
Trautman (6-5, 253 pounds) was picked by coach Sean Payton in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft out of Dayton. He hauled in 15 receptions for 171 yards and one touchdown as a rookie before seeing his totals increase to 27 catches for 263 yards and two touchdowns in 2021.
Here are highlights from Trautman’s time with the Saints:

In 2022, after Payton left New Orleans, Trautman’s targets dropped from 43 the previous year down to 22. Now reunited with Payton, Trautman will hope to be a little more involved in the passing game in Denver.
