The Denver Broncos signed quarterback Jarrett Stidham to a two-year, $10 million contract last week, bringing him in to replace Brett Rypien as the team’s new backup quarterback.
Stidham is a former fourth-round pick out of Auburn who spent the first three years of his career as a backup with the New England Patriots before being traded to the Las Vegas Raiders last year. Stidham served as a backup behind Derek Carr for most of last season before starting the final two games of the year after the Raiders decided to move on from Carr.
Stidham lost both starts, but he had an impressive performance against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 16, completing 67.65% of his passes for 365 yards with three touchdowns against two interceptions.
Here are Stidham’s highlights from that Niners game:
And, to be taken with a grain of salt, here are his preseason highlights last year:
And because he has a small sample size in the NFL, here are Stidham’s highlights from college:
Stidham is now poised to serve as Russell Wilson’s backup in Denver.
