Cheating capital unveiled as affair numbers exposed in each Ayrshire town

Kilmarnock has been unveiled as the cheating capital of Ayrshire, according to new figures.

Data produced by Illicit Encounters shows 589 people are cheating in the East Ayrshire town.

The married dating website says that the number of people cheating in the town increased by more than 70 per cent from 340 last year. Infact, the number of people having affairs across Ayrshire has increased in general as the country emerges from the pandemic.

However, forbidden romance has nose-dived in Irvine where 1,159 affairs last year have decreased to 372 this year.

The number of folk having flings in Ayr has also risen from 349 last year to 368. The amount of Troon two-timers shot up from 282 to 294.

While the number of lovers carrying on in Cumnock slightly increased from 282 last year to 285 this year. Ardrossan affairs increased to 174 from 172 and Girvan saw a rise from 131 to 138. Kilwinning jumped from 341 to 348.

IllicitEncounters.com spokeswoman Jessica Leoni said: “We have seen a rise in affairs in Kilmarnock and throughout many parts of Ayrshire.

“The cost of living crisis has been a huge factor in boosting the numbers of affairs. Sex is one of the few things you can do which is free and is a good way to relieve stress.

“Fewer unhappy couples can afford to divorce because the cost of setting up two new homes is astronomical. Far cheaper to stay in an unhappy relationship and have a discreet affair.

“A second factor has been life finally returning to normal after Covid and cheaters making up for lost time after two years of restrictions.

“The run-up to Christmas is always a boom time for affairs because most people are back in the office and looking for some fun.”

The figures are based on IllicitEncounters’ own extensive data on the numbers of Britons cheating.
