Cheapest place to buy Nintendo Switch console £25 less than Argos, Currys and Game

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular gaming consoles among adults and children alike. It’s as popular now as it was when it was launched in 2017 - but they’re rarely on offer, retailing between £250 and £350.

It’s the Japanese company’s best selling product, surpassing the Nintendo Wii when the launch of the OLED Switch saw sales top 100 million.

However, we’ve found the red and blue portable console on offer for less than £235 - cheaper than major retailers such as Amazon, Game, Argos and Currys.

The Nintendo Switch console is on offer at Very for £234 as part of the retailers ‘very big deals week’, which runs until July 14 - meaning you’ve only got a week to snap up the deal. That is unless it sells out ahead of the sales end date.

The console was originally £259 on the website, so is saving shoppers £25.

A big appeal for the device is that it has a new and improved battery life of up to nine hours for gaming on-the-go.

The product description reads: “The clever Switch works as a home gaming system and a portable console to suit all your gaming needs. There are three different ways to play. The first is through your TV just like an ordinary console, using the controllers to play alone or with friends on a range of top class games that bear Nintendo's tried and trusted seal of quality.

“The second mode lets you play tabletop. Just prop the console anywhere and use its built-in screen and detachable Joy-Con controllers to have fun on any flat surface either at home or on the move.

“The third mode is a traditional handheld experience. Just hold it like you would a phone or a Game Boy, view the games on the screen and work the buttons in handheld mode. The Nintendo Switch has motion controls just like the ones pioneered with the Wii.”

The Very deal is the best we’ve found, with other retailers being priced between £248.99 and £259.99. Argos and Game have the most expensive consoles at the moment, just under £260, with Currys close behind with £259. AO’s console is retailing for £252, while Smyths and Amazon have gone a penny cheaper at £251.99.

The second best deal comes from OnBuy, who’s Nintendo Switch is currently priced at £248.99, though is still £15 more than the Very offer.
