Cheapest Glasgow Airport July flights for under £40 including Belgium and Spain

With July finally upon us, the peak summer holiday season has officially begun.

Although it's true that holidays will be more expensive at this time of year, particularly if you didn't book ahead, there are still plenty of options for those wanting a last-minute break.

While the possibilities are pretty much endless, many households have been hit by the cost of living crisis and so budget is a major concern. That doesn't mean you can't enjoy a European getaway though.

We took to Skyscanner to find return flights this month for under £40, and you may be surprised at the options available for such a low price. From Ireland to Belgium to Spain, there is something for everyone — even a tight budget.

Here is a roundup of the cheapest return flights available to purchase this July.

Dublin, Ireland

Just because it's relatively close to home doesn't mean Ireland isn't worthy of a summer holiday. With return flights to the capital starting at just £15 in July, it may be the perfect pick for those who want to travel but don't have the biggest budget. Highlights include Phoenix Park, the Museum of Literature, and former jail Kilmainham Gaol.

Brussels, Belgium

If the thought of Ireland doesn't excite you, and you have a little bit more money to spare, then why not head to Brussels this July? Flights are as little as £25, and temperatures are expected to remain above 20C over at least the next week, so it could be a good shout if you're after some summer sun but can't afford to head to a resort.

Various cities, UK

Who says you can't enjoy a good holiday right here in the UK? For those who need the excitement of a city break but can't afford to go anywhere international amid the worsening cost of living crisis, there are plenty of options. Return flights to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Newcastle, and Nottingham can all be nabbed for between £35 and £40 and they all have plenty to offer.

Palma, Spain

If you're happy to spend a bit more money, and really want to soak up some proper summer sun, then Palma is your best bet. The capital of Mallorca is considerably cheaper to fly to than other resorts in the Balearic Islands, and being the largest city across all of them there is plenty to see and do. Of course, it also has stunning sandy beaches too. Win win.
